Privacy Policy
DRAFT for review by counsel before publication. Version 1.0 — 2026-09-04.
This Privacy Policy explains how Sierra International Network Inc. ("SINI", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information in the TapEquity application and website (the "Service"). TapEquity is operated by SINI. The software is built and maintained for SINI by a software vendor that processes data only on SINI's instructions.
1. What we collect
- Account data: name, date of birth and adult-age attestation, email address, phone number, password (stored only as a salted hash — we cannot read it), country, referral code, account type (worker or business), company details for business accounts.
- Program data: the work agreement you accepted (version, date, time, IP address, app version), tasks, posts, evidence you upload (screenshots, links, photos, videos), points, shares issued, certificates.
- Identity verification (KYC): when you request the conversion of points into shares we collect the identity and tax information the law requires (for example government ID and Form W-9 or W-8). This is stored separately with restricted access.
- Community feed: the alerts, news, jobs, tips and videos you publish, the approximate location you type, the products you review and the samples you request (shipping address).
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser or device type, app version, pages used, time of daily sessions, ad views, push-notification subscription tokens, crash and error logs.
- Consent records: which policies you accepted, which version, when and from which IP address.
- Payments (business accounts only): plan, amount, payment method and the transaction reference. Card numbers are handled by the payment processor (for example Stripe or PayPal) and never stored by us.
2. How we use it
- To run the Service: accounts, tasks, points, shares, notifications, the community feed, samples, events.
- To pay compensation in shares and meet securities, tax and record-keeping obligations.
- To keep the Service honest: detecting bots, duplicate accounts, fake engagement and fraud.
- To send service messages (job reminders, session ended, approvals). Marketing messages only with your consent, and you can turn them off at any time.
- To show clearly labelled first-party sponsored content. Ad views and clicks do not earn points or shares.
- To comply with the law and to respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
3. Who we share it with
- Service providers acting for us: hosting (Amazon Web Services, United States), email and SMS delivery, push notifications (Google Firebase, Apple), bot protection (Cloudflare), payment processors, identity-verification and tax-form providers, and our software vendor. Each is bound by contract to use the data only for us.
- Advertising clients: a business whose product you review or whose campaign you complete sees your public content, your first name and last initial, and — only when you request a free sample — the shipping address you enter. They also sponsor first-party campaign content. TapEquity does not use Google rewarded ads.
- Authorities: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
- Corporate transactions: if SINI is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, data may transfer as part of that transaction with the same protections.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The website and app use strictly necessary storage (login session, your preferences, offline cache) and, only with your consent, analytics storage. See the Cookie Policy for the list and how to change your choice. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal for California residents.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California under the CCPA/CPRA and the EU/UK under the GDPR) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Records we must keep by law (for example shareholder registers, tax records, agreement acceptances) are retained even after an account is deleted. To initiate account deletion, use Menu › Settings › Privacy or https://tapequity.app/delete-account. For other requests, email admin@mediavision.us. We verify requests before acting and respond within the time the law requires.
6. Retention
Account and program data are kept while your account is active and for the period required by securities, tax and accounting law after it closes (generally seven years). Consent records and audit logs are kept for as long as the related agreement can be enforced. Push tokens and analytics data are deleted or anonymized within 24 months of inactivity.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2, connections are encrypted with TLS, access to personal data is limited to staff who need it, every administrative action is written to an audit log, and backups are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Children
The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will delete the account.
9. International users
The Service is hosted in the United States. If you use it from outside the United States your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Changes
We will post any change here with a new version number and, for material changes, ask you to accept the new version in the app.
